You need to go right when they open to ensure your sushi on the train is fresh. The hibachi is not really meant to be ordered to go, although it is still an option on their website.

Never been here for the train. This is amazing! Although I could see myself getting into an expensive bill at the end of the meal, haha.

So fun to watch the train haul your sushi around the bar. Polite and friendly service. Sushi chef asked if there was something more we wanted and explained why a variety was not available.

My former boyfriend (now fiancee, soon husband) and I absolutely LOVE this restaurant!!! They will seat you instantly and even let you sit wherever you want if it's not too crowded. They quickly ask you what you want to drink and they also give you complementary ginger and wasabi. You help yourself to the soy sauce. You can choose anything your heart desires!! You can even request items to be put on the sushi train that goes around. My guy even purposes to me here! We love it so much h. Great atmosphere with excellent service!

My husband and I stopped in for a quick dinner at the sushi train. We noticed they must have Recently the did do a price increase (but what hasn't gone up lately). We have been avoiding going out to eat so much due to all the price increases. But the quality was good and the food was fresh. The person making the sushi behind the bar asked for requests and was trying to make foods to accommodate the people around the bar. This is our go to place for good quick sushi in Shawnee!

Introducing one of my favorite places to get sushi in the greater Kansas City area: Sakura Sushi Train! Sakura has a sushi train that loops around the bar and is holding mini plates with sushi and appetizers. Having a hard time picking which sushi roll sounds the best? At Sakura, you can pick and choose which plates you want to enjoy. I also snag some dumplings, a ginger salad, and crab rangoons to start my meal off with. I usually grab 4-6 mini plates with 2-3 sushi pieces on them. There are three colored plates with different prices depending on what is being served on the plate. This spot may not look like much from the front, but you will leave fully and happy! If you are looking for a unique dining experience in the greater Kansas City area, Sakura is the place to visit!

We LOVE the Shawnee location! We've been going here for years and the sushi never disappoints. They usually have a great variety on the train, but if there's a specific item I want I just asked and they'll make it. My favorite non sushi item is the tempura stuffed pepper.
